Theft Warning

Hello residents hoping you are all staying dry and warm.

We want to send out a theft warning to everyone going around Brixton Tube Station as we have been getting several reports of pickpockets stealing phones and wallets specifically during rush hour.

Keep your valuables out of sight and only take out your phone or wallet when needed, zip up your bags and pockets and look out for suspicious behaviour, you can always ask TFL staff for help. Pickpockets take advantage of busy times as it can help them hide and get away quick.

In an unfortunate event where your phone or wallet do get stolen freeze your cards as soon as possible. If ID's are taken as well report it to the relevant organisation e.g DVLA for drivers license and the embassy if your ID is gone, monitor suspicious behaviour such as unfamiliar accounts or charges letters or calls about debts you don’t recognize or changes to your credit score.

Report the incident to police (it is advised to report on the website) so we can investigate. 

Inform friends, family and neighbours so we can all stay aware.
